Weekly fun – Craft time with David & Ashira

October 2015

Autumn leaves

Adults may participate if they want, but they can stand back and watch.

Ingredients:

several pieces of plain unlined paper
several crayons
a few leaves which have fallen from the trees outside

  1. Carefully place a piece of paper over one leaf.
  2. Gently use the crayon to color on the paper over where the leaf is resting. By doing this, you will produce a colorful rendition of the leaf on your paper. Use as many colors as you like.
  3. Repeat steps one and two, for your other leaves.
  4. Compare the results from your different pieces of paper. See the differences in shape from leaf to leaf.

Extra credit – search online with your adult to see what kind of leaves you have sketched to learn more about each different tree.

Happy Autumn!

PS – David likes to shade his leaves in blue and green; Ashira likes to use every color of the rainbow.

What wonder can you create?
